Cascade Pass

I had recently read that Cascade Pass is one of the more Spectacular day-hikes in Washington.  Chris and I took advantage of the nice weather last week to go check it out.  We were not disappointed.

Verdict #1: I need to do more hikes in the Fall.

Verdict #2: I need to come back here.

The trail continues another mile or so past this point to the Sahale Arm.  Time was short and we were feeling pretty beat up, so we turned around here.

Verdict #3: Hiking downhill hurts more than hiking uphill.  I need to figure out why that is and do something about it.

Pain aside, I was so glad to get out into the mountains.  I hadn't even come close my quota for the year.

Chris came home and showed me about 400 pictures. He also spent the next two days on Motrin.

That looks like one of the most gorgeous places on the planet. Wow. And let me know when you figure out a solution to that pesky downhill hiking problem - my hip flexors will thank you.
