Art and Science

This is where I got on the subway every day.  All the locals I talked to complained about the Metro.  I thought it was the greatest thing ever.

This sculpture is based on a painting by Giuseppe Arcimbolo.  The National Gallery had a whole collections of his works (no cameras allowed).  The most impressive part? He was doing this in the mid-1500s!  I'm not an art historian, but it seems to me that this guy was miles ahead of his time.

Dali's The Sacrament of the Last Supper.  Love it.

I absolutely love Mark Rothko. These pieces are part of a set he was commissioned to do for what was originally a Catholic Chapel.  If you look closely, you can see (as you would expect with Rothko) that they are not just black rectangles.

Albert and I had a little chat.  He had some good life advice for me. Thanks, Al.
