"The Forts", as we referred to them, were standard camping destinations back in the Boy Scouts days. Fort Casey, Fort Flagler, Fort Worden, and Fort Ebey were built back pre-WWI, but were never used in combat. They are, however, excellent locations for capture the flag, and hiding dead bodies.
Ft. Casey had been the only one of The Forts where I hadn't actually camped, so I was a little disappointed when I got to the camping area. It was basically an RV park. Not basically. It is an RV park. I was the only person in a tent; a tent which, by the way, just barely stayed 3-dimensional in the midnight windstorm that kicked up.
There are a ton of cool dark hallways and rooms to explore. It really is a fun place to play.Bonus coverage: Here are a few pictures I took at Fort Flagler a couple years ago when Lance and Haley came to visit.

I've actually only camped at the RV park at Fort Casey. My grandparents used to take us every summer and we loved it. I haven't been to the other forts.
Did you go by yourself? You sure are dedicated.
oh, I love the hallway and Fort Flagler photos.
judgement in the affirmative.
